Well hey there! So you wanna know a little something about me? You’ve come to the right page 🙂

My name is Alyssa Rodriguez and I am 22 years old. I live in Northern California with my beautiful family of 7. I am so thankful for my family and I do not tell them enough how greatly I appreciate them. So mom, dad, Angelica, Saul, Marisa, and David, THANK YOU for your love! I appreciate you guys! I am currently pursuing an English degree at Stanislaus State University in Turlock, Ca. I will be graduating with a BA in English in the spring of 2018. I AM SO EXCITED! I have many passions in life, but I would not call them hobbies. Instead I will call them “lifestyle choices.” Some of these lifestyle choices are obtaining knowledge through reading (hence why I majored in English); bringing love into the world and unto others; finding ways to help others in any shape or form; giving without receiving; and of course fitness and nutrition.

I am a firm believer in following what I want vs. following what others want for me. I have always been this way, but I have not always acted on it. In recent years I have grown in vast ways as a human being. I owe an appreciation shout out to my boyfriend, Joshua Rasmussen for helping me grow and allowing me to decide for myself the who I want to be in this lifetime. Before I met Josh, I constantly allowed my fears of not being accepted, and disappointing others dictate my life. I was always aiming to please others instead of making decisions based on what I wanted. This is one of the many reasons why Josh tells me I have a “heart of gold.” I care so deeply about everyone else around me that sometimes I forget to put myself first. While he still tells me that my heart is made of gold, I no longer live my life by anyone else’s standards other than my own, and with guidance from God. Thank you, Josh, for giving me that push that I needed.

I am in love with God, and I know for a fact that I also would not be who I am today if it wasn’t for his love, friendship, and guidance. A significant part of who I am is being a lover of Christ. I am not ashamed of it, so just call me the Jesus Freak 🙂

I have massive goals for my future and I plan on reaching every single one of them. Honest Fitness is just the beginning.
